My name is Kevin Fitzgerald and I love massaging people.  Since my first massage in 1985, I have followed my passion for massage and health through courses, workshops, videos, books and research articles as well as massaging thousands of people and receiving hundreds of massages.

I have received extensive training in Western, Eastern and Hawaiian forms of massage.  I am a member of the Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA), the largest natural therapy association in Australian.  If your health fund policy includes remedial massage therapy you will be able to claim a rebate for massage treatments you receive from me.

I completed my first massage course with Guy Clews in Canberra in 1986.  In 1990, I completed the three year course in Remedial Therapies at the Australian College of Natural Medicine, Brisbane.  After graduation, I setup and ran the Mitchelton Sports and Remedial Massage clinic from March 1990 to April 2001.

In June 2001, I moved to Bardon and setup the Abundant Health Clinic.  In December 2004, the clinic moved to Auchenflower.  From December 2006 to June 2007 the clinic operated in Dayboro.

I am currently working at Core Yoga Studios in West End and at Wights Mountain in the Samfrod Valley.  I also provide massage services at weekend yoga retreats in May and October with Core Yoga Studios at Gunnebah in Northern NSW.  You can also receive a massage treatment from me at the beautiful and peaceful Blue Ridge Lavender Farm and Retreat in Dayboro.

To supplement my experience I have worked as a remedial therapist at the Albany Creek, Newmarket, Baroona Road (Milton) and LifeCare Taringa physiotherapy and specialist centres.  From August 1999 to August 2000 , I massaged kidney patients at the Royal Brisbane Hospital's renal unit in Keperra.  I enjoyed working as part of a team with physiotherapists, doctors, podiatrists and nurses.  From May 2006 to November 2007, I massaged at the Bardon Counselling and Natural Therapies Centre working with osteopaths, naturopaths, psychologists and counsellors.  I gained work experience with elite athletes and the sports medicine team at the Australian Institiue of Sports in Canberra.

From 1995 to 2001, I was employed by the Australian College of Natural Medicine.  Working at the college exposed me to the latest research and ideas in natural medicine.  I loved supervising the Remedial Therapies student clinic and lecturing in “Sports and Exercise Therapy”, “Clinical Assessment” and “Structural Balancing”.

A life time interest in sport has helped me in my work with international, national and local athletes from a range of individual and team sports including athletics, swimming, cycling, diving, rowing, baseball, softball, cricket, volleyball, triathlons, marathons, netball, basketball, soccer, Australian Rules, rugby league, rugby union, boxing, tennis, squash, golf, marital arts, touch football and equestrian events.

I have lectured for Sports Medicine Australia and the Queensland Academy of Sports.

My love of dance has led me to work as a remedial therapist with The Australian Ballet and The Queensland Ballet.  I have massaged at the Queensland Performing Arts Complex, the Suncorp Theatre, The Thomas Dixon Centre and The Powerhouse.

In 2001, I completed Julie Willoughby's in-depth course in Pregnancy, Labour and Post Natal Massage Therapy.  I learnt Hawaiian pregnancy massage with Mette Sorensen's Institute of Bodywork and Personal Development.  During my massage career I have enjoyed massaging hundreds of women throughout their pregnancies including labour.

I have received extensive training training in Ka Huna bodywork, client counselling and philosophy with Mette Sorensen's Institute of Bodywork and Personal Development.

Originating in Hawaii, Ka Huna bodywork is an amazing and powerful form of massage which uses breath, movement, music and long flowing strokes to balance the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of a human being.

In 2005, I learnt the luxurious, deep cleansing Ka Huna Cocoon treatment from Marcell Le Brocque.  Also in 2005, I studied Chi Nei Tsang (Internal Organs Chi Massage) with Jutta Kellenberger from the Tao Garden in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

I am currently completing the International Yoga Teachers' Association (IYTA) yoga teacher training course and have taught yoga classes at Core Yoga Studios in Paddington and West End.

My interests outside of massage are human relationships, nutritious food, yoga, dance, music, travel, and enjoying a healthy lifestyle.

I look forward to bringing the joys of massage to you.

I wish you abundant health, abundant wealth, abundant love and perfect self-expression.

Have a most wonderful day.
